The Hague, 12 November 2024. Let's strike a cheerful note and introduce Ayisha Azriella, who became part of the RESONIKS family in May 2024 as our Business Analyst Intern, and has since become our Junior Business and Financial Analyst! We couldn't be more excited to have her continue her journey with us. Ayisha is a food enthusiast (seriously, she loves it!), and she’s also passionate about arts, culture, and her family!
Hi, I’m Ayisha! I grew up in Jakarta, Indonesia, and recently graduated summa cum laude from Universitas Gadjah Mada, one of Indonesia’s top universities, and the Erasmus School of Economics, through a double degree program in Financial Economics. While studying in Rotterdam, I discovered RESONIKS, which opened the door to an exciting opportunity—landing a full-time role that kept me here in the Netherlands.
It might sound a bit old-school, but I absolutely love visiting art museums, especially those showcasing impressionist pieces or Indonesian artists. Sticking to the arts, I’m also a big fan of live music, from orchestras to Broadway shows—definitely something I need to explore more in the Netherlands. Travelling to try different cuisines is another passion of mine, but my greatest joy comes from spending time with my family, which is a little harder now that I’m living abroad.
Why do you enjoy being part of the RESONIKS team?
What keeps me grounded and feeling at home is being surrounded by positive energy, and RESONIKS is full of amazing people, which makes it even better. Anyone who’s worked with me knows how much I love talking to people, and RESONIKS is perfect because the team is so wonderfully diverse. I never feel excluded, and the conversations are always fascinating—ranging from discussions on physics formulas to fun questions like what type of plant you'd want to be!
I also love how we're diverse not just in backgrounds but also in academic expertise. It’s such a unique experience to be learning about AI and even some physics while I’m doing my day-to-day work as a business analyst. Every day is interesting, and the vibe is always positive. The dynamic here is just fantastic!
What gets you out of bed in the morning?
The thought of lunch is what powers me out of bed every morning. Honestly, I’m that person who’s way too excited about food! Just thinking about what I’ll be cooking, or what I whipped up the night before, gets me instantly happy. These days, cooking Indonesian meals is my personal form of therapy—it’s like a one-way ticket home that helps ease my homesickness.
But the best part? Seeing what everyone else brings for lunch! It’s hilarious because lunchtime always turns into this fun interrogation of everyone’s meals, and somehow, the weirdest conversations follow. Lunch is like the magical time that brings us all together, gives us a breather, and honestly, it’s hands-down the best part of my day!
What are you most proud of?
I’ve always been the type of person who plans way ahead, knowing exactly what I want and putting in the effort to make it happen. But life has a funny way of not always going according to plan. Over time, I’ve realized that when things don’t go my way, it’s often for the best! What I’m most proud of is how much my mindset has shifted. I’ve become braver and more open to exploring my own path.
Deciding to work in the Netherlands and stay here wasn’t something I ever planned. Moving away from my family and choosing this direction took a lot of courage, but I’m really proud I didn’t let fear hold me back. It’s been such an amazing opportunity, and my life now feels full of excitement and possibility. And, of course, I’m also incredibly proud of my mom for always supporting me and helping me get to where I am today!
How would your friends describe you?
My friends like to call me a "chaotic robot," which might sound like a contradiction, but honestly, it’s pretty spot-on! The "robot" part comes from my super-serious academic side. I’m all about hitting the books hard, and I can be pretty strict with myself when it comes to studying. So naturally, friends come to me with questions, and most of the time, I somehow have the answers. Plus, I’m full of the weirdest random facts that pop up out of nowhere.
But then there’s the "chaotic" side—basically everything not related to studying. Despite my serious streak, I’m loud, spontaneous, and I love to socialize. My intrusive thoughts? They win a lot. I’m definitely that friend who will strike up a deep conversation with strangers or randomly decide to hug a tree, just because it seems like a good idea in the moment. Hence, the "chaotic robot" nickname sticks!
What are your favourite hobbies or interests outside of work?
I absolutely love visiting museums, and even more so, exploring art exhibitions. My dad is a huge art lover too, and growing up in a home where every wall was covered with artwork definitely sparked my passion. Living in Europe has been incredible because I’ve had the chance to visit so many museums and see legendary masterpieces that have literally moved me to tears. Some of my most unforgettable moments include seeing Van Gogh’s works in Amsterdam, Monet’s in Paris, and Picasso’s in Germany—it’s been a dream!
Back home in Indonesia, art exhibitions are just as exciting, especially when they showcase young and experimental artists. I love chatting with them about their ideas and even started building my own art collection. It’s such a joyful experience!
